Question After or before turning on the computer?

I search on internet and tried different ways to fix it but to no avail.
What have you tried before you created this thread?

After upgrading to Windows 11, my Lenovo ThinkPad e580 keyboard is not working on cold boot (it is ok after reboot).
You upgraded to WIndows 11 using the internal upgrade path in Windows 10? If so, then you should recreate your bootable USB installer for Windows 11, and reinstall the OS in offline mode. Make sure you've got the drivers with the latest version on a removable drive.

Before you start out on the above advice, it's a good idea to back up all mission critical data off your original drive.

Finally, I found an interesting approach but not sure if the computer needed to be turned on first or not.
How are you supposed to proceed with the steps in your link article/guide with the laptop turned off?

Probably every way you can find on internet. Such as uninstall the driver from device manager, update the drivers from Lenovo website, disable fast boot, change BIOS setting, and a lot more.

I am not sure if I can press the on/off button for several seconds to turn on the laptop. Therefore, I posted the question.

I replaced the ssd with a new one before installing (clean install).

This is where you disassemble the laptop, disconnect the internal battery and then press and hold down the power button for 30seconds to drain the laptop motherboard's residual power.

Is it related to the keyboard?

Can I use up the battery in stead of disconnect it?
