After startup login computer screen freezes - windows 7 - Toshiba Satellite L50

I'm trying to do a "clean install"with a bootable CD of Windows 7 Ultimate.
The screen appears normally, I select my language and then I'm prompted that :
CD/DVD device driver is missing with the option to browse drives and select the driver
to be installed. ?? Went into C:Windows\system32\DriverStore\FileRepository.. nothing
seems to work, I don't know. I restored the PC to "out of the box" -toshiba.
could be something to do with the registry, missing/corrupt files/partition.
How can I get this computer up and running??

Did you try startup and repair with the bootable CD for windows if you had windows loaded before.

Yes, I have several times. The "Start-up Repair" reports :
Root cause found : Boot status indicates that the OS booted successfully.
I have also tried and successfully completed a System Restore (however,
that being the only restore point,. the computer was not at a 'healthy'
image then either. There has never been any back-up files. I created
System Repair Disk prior to having done Toshiba restore .

I have ran sfc /scan now and chkdsk with same result of boot status
indicates that the OS booted successfully. In safe mode I went into
control panel >System > Advanced System Settings > System Properties
> Hardware > Windows Update Driver Settings > and changed it from
allow Windows to automatically download drivers from Windows Update
to Check for drivers on my computer first and allow me to search for dirver,.
I then went into Device Manager and dbl. clicked on IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers
updateaad the drivers for Channel 0 Channel 1 (which then changed to channel
1/channel respectively,, also 'standard dual PCI IDE controller,,. all with success
and restart prompt. In BIOS I changed SATA controller mode from AHCI to
compatibility. Booted from CD,.. still prompted for CD/DVD device driver in.
because I changed the way driver downloads are handled I was able to
navigate to C:\program files\Realtek\NICDRV_8169\WIN7. tHAT WORKED!
ONLY TO GET ANOTHER PROMPT : No new devices could be found. Make sure the driver files are correct and located on the driver installation media. !!UGGH
.. going back 'in' update more drivers ?? try again.
