So im upgrading my pc in a couple of months. But before that i want to squeeze out the little power there is left in my old gtx 660. It has a default clock of 1006 (its factory overclocked) and i want to increase it. For the past month i have overclocked but now as i look on at the real time core speed, i see it doesn't actually apply. I set it to say +30MHz and i look at the real time core clock and it stays at 1006. In gpu z it says 'default clock 1006' and 'gpu clock of 1036', but it still does not do anything. Thanks!

Ok so i found it was appying when my pc started to play up at 70+MHz but i realised im not getting any performance boost. Maybe an improved score of 1 in unigine heaven but still next to nothing
