Another VIA victim, poor guy, try the latest bios, VIA AGP drivers, and Detonator 3 version 6.31. If that doesn't help, try uninstalling and removing your soundcard, just to test it and find out if there is a problem there (I have seen many problems with Vortex cards and VIA chipsets).

you are overclocking the bejessus out of your agp port first of all does it run stable at stock speed at agp4X? Give this a try first. Seeing how you are running at 148 fsb you are not really running at agp4X which would equate to 266 at fsb of 133. you are running at 284 mhz on your apg card(@4x). Seeing how you have a good overclock going I would leave it at agp 2x the differnce between 2x and 4x is not much at all (most apps dont utilize agp4x).

A little bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing!

i have latest bios latest drivers for everything and put everything back to stock speeds no overclocks on anything turned off fast writes turned off side band addressing pulled everything except video card and deleted all drivers a fresh install of win98se not just install over old setup everything but to no avail.

Get the Asus CUSL2-C motherboard. It will cost you money but save you time. I keep warning poeple about those damn VIA chipsets. The CUSL2 is very highly rated-look through Toms motherboard guide for all the details on it. What it really boils down to is this-how much money is all that time worth? When you put it in that perspective a new motherboard seems fairly cheap! With this motherboard you should be able to push the CPU even higher!

Suicide is painless...........

If you look around the techsites for agp4x info you will find info that shows agp 4x does not inprove performance very much. I dont beleive it is worthwhile to get a new board just for agp4x. But if you have other needs that your current board does not support the cusl2-c is the way to go.

I get about 10% better scores in 3D-Mark 2000 with 4x enabled for my 32MB GTS card. I believe there is more room for performance with the 4x standard, as better graphics become available.

looks like you got a dud vid card or posibly as crashman said a probelm with your chipset ( or that dam intel chip lol) try as a last resort the via ver 4.28 beta drivers and install in turbo mode. Only install the agp drivers and not the ide bus master drivers windows always prefers it stock drivers.
