AHCI boot counter thing.

I have recently built a new computer and I am using AHCI, I just noticed the other day in the upper right hand corner there seems to be a counter or something of some sort. Does any one know what this is or why it is there?
I have never seen it there until the other day. I did Microsoft updates and installed an antivirus then after that is when I started noticing it. Was it always there and I just never noticed it till now? What does it do or mean?

You are probably seeing your motherboard displaying diagnostics codes as it goes through the boot process. It was likely always there, but you failed to notice it.

Don't worry about it unless something is performing incorrectly.
