Question AIO Cooler has a problem

Good day all,

I am experiencing something odd with my AIO Cooler. The cooler in question is a Gamdias Aura GL240 V2 and it technically works, but whenever I play Helldivers 2, the cooler will then switch itself off and on. Has anyone else experienced this?

How do you mean turn off/on? The rgb lighting or pump/fans?

Is Helldiver 2 the only game you play where you notice this, no others? No game would interfere on the mechanical aspect of a cooler but guess it's possible with rgb lighting, could depend what else software wise is installed too, like nzxt cam, might cause a conflict.

Check power connection and header to the motherboard. Not exactly sure of the issue so just suggesting stuff.

List entire pc specs also and monitor cpu temperature.

Aio pumps don't last forever, if your aio is on it's way out id consider going air instead if you have the room for a tower heatsink and enough air flow.

Helldivers 2 is the only game I notice this happening on, and the whole cooler switches off for a second then back on again, and wash rinse repeat.

I've reseated the cooler, disconnected and reconnected the cooler, same results. This cooler is brand new as well, got it last week.

My PC specs are as follows:

CPU: Ryzen 5 7600
RAM: Kingston Beast DDR5 32GB 5600mhz
Motherboard: PRO B650M-B
PSU: ANTEC 850w Gold 80+
GPU: RX 7800XT Quicksilver XFX
Storage: WD Blue Nvme SSD 1tb and a 512gb SATA SSD
CPU Cooler: Gamdias Aura GL240 V2
Case Fans: 6

Run Intel Burn Test or Prime95 and see if same thing happens.

Monitor cpu temp with Core Temp.

The whole cooler turning off i can only assume pump is included. That's not good obviously and probably a coincidence it's happening with just that game. How long do you play until it happens? See if you can replicate this running cpu stress tester mentioned above. Watch Core Temp like a hawk and shut down cpu stress test if temps suddenly spike.

What's your case? If your case can fit a decent air cooler then return aio for one. 7600 doesn't require aio at all, you'll be better off long term.

My CPU temps will spike to 58 and then drop back to 57 every time the cooler flashes. The fan speed on the cooler also dips when this happens. I don't normally play for long when the cooler starts to flash, but so far HD2 is the only game that causes this. My case is a Neso p1

Do you have pbo enabled? There's temperature limits you can set in bios, it may be set too low, try 90c if current setting is much lower than that. Could be the cause of this but turning off the cooler is a new one for me.

I don't think so.

More likely the aio is faulty, loose connection or cold solder somewhere in the wiring.
