Termaltake A1254 Volcano 7+
Termaltake Volcano11+
Termaltake silent boost
CoolerMaster Aero 7+ copper

all above have nearly same prices, noise is not important, which is better
or somewhat pricy Termaltake Volcano12+

The silent boost is my cooler of choice, it is also much quieter.

Spins at only 2000, [ under all conditions ] and is very very quiet
and is the same price:

Coolermaster Jet 7 ACB-V83 Cooler (Socket A) (HS-011-CM)
Coolermaster Jet7+ ACB-V83-U2 Cooler (Socket A) (HS-013-CM)

Used them both on my own machine and I like their ability to do the
job without noise. My hard drive coolers etc run at 7 volts and make
more noise than these.

I have used the Volcano 7 and 7+
Currently use a silent boost with a Vantec Tornado 80mm x 38mm with a 8 Ohm
10 Watt (should have used a 4 ohm) resister in the voltage line to reduce
the speed of the fan and the noise. The speed is 4500 rpm. If I were
putting this on a new system I would use a UFO 92mm fan as they are quieter
and have a higher air flow with less noise.

AMD A core (680) 1700+ @ 1900mhz on a 180Mhz buss (360Mhz FSB)
2100 DDR 3 3 4 11 @ 1:1 (180Mhz) 2.7 V (128MB slot 2, 256MB slot 3,
MT-chips)
Core 38°C idle 44°C load (on board sensor 55-57°C core ?) with 1.85 V
Speed Turbo BIOS not a ABIT BIOS (10.5 on CPU)
GF 5900SE @ 450 core / 780 mem with a Startech 1U copper heat sink
40GB Seagate ATA100 7200rpm

Not bad for a cheap system ($100.00-MB, $60.00-mem, $45.00-CPU,
$180.00-video card, $45.00-HD).

The slient boost with a good high CFM fan will give you allot of value for
your money. Vantec Tornado $12 - $14, UFO Thermaltake fan $18 - $19, and the
Slient Boost $24 - $26. I believe that the silent boost with a good fan
will cool better than the Volcano 12 for the price. (Volcano 12 $32 - $34).

For $8 on sale, the Coolermaster CP5-7JD1B is a good value. I've been using
them on a 1900+ and a 2600+ and my CPU temps stay around 104°F in a 86°F
case. It is rated at 24db and is equipped with a 70mm fan.

Any fan running at over 4500rpm is noisy. You have to put an rpm
limiter on it to make it quiet. The fan on the aeroflow is a magentic
blade tip fan and by design it moves more air than a standard fan
running at the same rpm. Lower the rpm on the aeroflow and it will be
just as quiet and still provide decent cooling.
