Aleinware X51 upgrade to GTX 660

I have an Alienware X51 thats using a GTX 645, I want to upgrade to a GTX 660. However, I was wondering if I would need to but a 330 Watt power supply. As of now I have a 240 Watt power supply. Thanks for any help!

ummm. no. There's a reason I brought it to this site; I don't know a lot about this stuff and I wanted to make sure before I bought it...

It's a very small desktop that gets it small form from an external power brick.

In this case no. I'd say not. A 660 is not plausible.

the absolute best you will manage is upgrading to a 330w power supply and then getting a gtx 750 ti that runs only on the power of the pcie slot, and you need to make sure it has a blower cooler so it wont overheat your system



a OEM 660 can work, but up to you if you want to risk it.
