Question Alienware 18 replaceable GPU?

I don’t really know much about laptops or building them, but I do know how to build a regular PC and fix them. I do have an old Alienware 18 with a duel 980 GPU and I am wondering if I could replace them with something new. Even the CPU or fans as well. I am curious to know if it is hard or easy to do nine my skills with regular PCs. If not, is it cheaper to just get a new gaming laptop. Most laptops generally don't let you upgrade anything other than harddisk and RAM. I've heard of exceptions of course, but in my experince they are rare
