i have alienware aurora r3 motherboard in my build and it has a i7 2600 non k im trying to overclock with setfsb but cant find the ics or anything and i dont want to risk it without knowing my ics what should i do? i would like to at least get to 4 ghz. - specs - i7 2600,Alienware 046MHW motherboard, msi gtx 1060 6gb oc'd, 16gb hyperx 1866 in dual channel, corsair h55 liquid cooler, insignia 500 watt psu, two western digital blue's 1tb running in raid0, and a corsair spec alpha case. ( i found the motherboard and cpu in a trashed alienware on the side of the road) thank you for who ever took there time to read this. Solution
There is no FSB with the 2xxx series, the only thing you can increase it the Base Clock (bclk), it's 100Mhz by default, but only goes up to 102-105Mhz, so there is no way you could overclock that CPU. That's why Intel makes the K-series of CPUs.
