News Alienware Desktop With Ryzen and RTX 3070 is just $1,499

550 Watts PSU.

That RAM. "XMP at 2933MHz". Does that mean the system comes with 2400/2666MHz RAM? Weird and useless when 3200MHz RAM is the same price.

For the RTX 3070 if they got it at MSRP that system is around 1250 dollars USD using the cheapest part possible on PCPartPicker.

512GB of storage total? That's like 45 dollars of storage that will get destroyed by the OS + games and the rest.

So they literally cheap out on everything but the CPU and GPU.

Odd they talk a lot about the GPU but only mention the last generation CPU once, not that great a deal.

Uh no? At 1440p that CPU might outperform a 5600. It will at the very least be identical in performance. You can easily verify this by checking one of many Youtube videos. Even the 3600 is alomst literally exactly the same at 1440p.

The wattages might be ok but I would not plug a RTX 3070 on a low quality PSU. Since they don't say which model it is expect it to be crappy.
I think that is a bad assumption.
A) The average person buying a prebuilt computer isn't going to know PSU models or brands.
B) Dell is likely buying a white label PSU with reasonable specs from a known brand at a discount. Thus it is mostly likely a 'good but not great' PSU.

I'm not that knowledgeable on Dell's PSU. I guess they do decent PSU's which I didn't know. Thanks for the info.
