[citation][nom]babybeluga[/nom]Alienware hit upon an untapped market apparently: little people who play computer games.[/citation]

LOL. I think for the price they are charging it is a pretty solid deal though, a lot more value then the dell XPS I purchased 3 years ago for school/casual gaming.

Is Darkhan an actual Dell/Alienware employee? Because I could say that I heard the M11x will also be getting a better screen as well.

Unfortunately, in AU it starts at $1299 with the SU7300/4GB/500GB coming in at $1700 (~1583 USD). At that price I'd be surprised if a single one sold over here..

so I can now pop out the graphics chip and shove it into another computer with a socket for it all while the computer is still on... amazing! /sarcastic enthusiasm

I would like to mention that I am in no way unhappy with my m11x purchase. Waiting for new technology just means I am not enjoying the current.

They should have released it with better cpu's originally. Don't know how they got away with calling it a gaming netbook, with just a 1.3 GHz Core 2 Duo

I wonder if they could squeeze an i7 720M (1.6 quad, 2.8 turbo i think) in there. If not, I hope that they will put a 2.4 ghz i3 or i5 in there.

If I could get a laptop with 8gb of a ram, and 4 threads (preferably 4 physical cores) and something that can max out all games @ 1280x720 (except crysis- it gets no AA and possibly a few compromises)

Asus makes good laptops too, but I think it would be sweet to have an alienware just for the brand name- especially something this portable.

However, I also want a desktop for upgradability and generally higher performance and higher resolutions. I figure I can build a sweet uATX cube with 8gb ram (in 2x4gb config, allowing for future additions/upgrades), 2tb storage, and quadcore, and then include a screen and mouse and keyboard for $1500 AFTER taxes and shipping (not a penny more... and I find that pretty awesome with comparison to what I could "build" on newegg even 3-4 months ago)

I bet this type of comedy performance brings down the house at parties.

Wait a minute, so does this mean Intel is finally starting to allow Nvidia to make chipsets for their newest CPUs? Or was that only for desktop PC motherboards?

I have read a lot of forums and comments of people saying that the Alienware m11x is probably getting one of the i7 quad core mobile processors or one of the i5 dual core mobile processors standard voltage. I really don't know. But neither of the aforementioned processors are power usage friendly. That is lethal for a computer that is advertised to give up to 4.5 hours of battery life to gamers. My guess is that Dell is going for the ultra low voltage i-series the i7-620UM or 640UM or the i5-520UM.

bad link above. Does anyone know if the rumors are true? I've been waiting to pull the trigger on M11x but will wait for CPU if they are true.

omg hahaha did you just post an acer? ha!really tho... i hope dell puts in an i5 or i3 but i would rather they not sacrafice the battery power and good price, the m11x operates just fine with the duo core and 8gb ram on almost every game, comparing this thing to laptops twice its size and price isn't really fare
