Hello. I'm not sure about specs and compatibility.
For my ALIENWARE M15 R7... it's supposed to accept ddr5 but all these specs for

G.SKILL Trident Z5 RGB Series 64GB (2 x 32GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 6400 (PC5 51200) Desktop Memory Model F5-6400J3239G32GX2-TZ5RK

(from here, specifically: https://www.newegg.com/g-skill-64gb...&ranSiteID=3.BIL10dmOI-MqulU81.a_ppbc8kZ2sUoA)

will it work?
Do I need to specify my machine more? it came with 2x16 GB ram ddr5 (
  • Memory *
    16 GB, 2 x 8 GB, DDR5, 4800 MHz)
but I'm not sure what specs it has besides that. I bought it here https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/del...ing-laptop/spd/alienware-m15-r7-gaming-laptop , the most basic model.
Thanks in advance

Thank you very much! you prevented me from making a stupid mistake! just needed to look for the words desktop and laptop to distinguish... right

So, I'm now looking for "laptop memory 64 GB" but I don't seem to find 5200 MHz options for purchase.

Are those hard to come by at the moment? (the link you game me is a good choice, indeed. Just wondering if there was something a little faster with clockspeed).

I've found a few choices for you to choose off of these two different sites:
Amazon: https://a.co/d/aR6mAj3 (perfectly @ 5200MHz)
Newegg: https://newegg.io/nca7cb91a5 (This one clocked higher @ 5600MHz)

There's probably more roaming around the internet but to find those you'll need to do some digging. I would look at those two choices and maybe have the search up to "laptop memory 64gb ddr5 5200mhz" to narrow down the search.

Good luck
