Question Alienware M17 CPU drops to 0.96ghz when disconnected from charger.

Hi. I have an Alienware M17 with:
i7 8750H
RTX 2070 MQ
2x8GB 2667mhz RAM
I tend to keep it constantly plugged in to its charger however whenever I make slight adjustments around it and need to disconnect it I find that in Task manager the CPU records as going to 0.96ghz and even things like mouse tracking lag starts. When I plug it back in it all "fixes itself" and is fine again?

You need to configure the power settings behavior for plugged in and not plugged in. Probably set to save power when unplugged. Not necessarily a bad thing, but if you don't want the CPU to downclock itself you need to start there.
