Alienware x51 Graphic Update

Hi!
i'm currently running a NvidiaGeForce GTX 555 on my Alienware x51, but i would like to upgrade it since it begins to fail a bit with new games.
So, i heard that a good graphic card (due to the restricions of dimensions) is the Asus GeForce 760 Mini, is it true?
What card should I buy then?
My processor is Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3770 CPU @ 3.40GHz if that could be relevant.

I've extensively googled this but can't remember which forum I found it on but people have successfully loaded a reference GTX 970 in the X51, but you have to remove one of the fans and have to be using the 330W PSU. The Asus Mini will circulate heat inside your case, better to get a blower design such as the reference.
