I had a gtx 260, just upgraded to a evga 4gb ssc gtx 960, now all my games stutter. Singleplayer games, multiplayer games, and i even tested it out on Awesomenauts a game that any computer can run easily and it still stutters there.

Games might just freeze every 40 secs for 2 secs. all of my drivers are up to date, used DDU to clear my old drivers. I've tried to look on the forums for an answer but people just say "update your drivers!"
Specs:
I5 4460 not OC'ed
2x4gb DDR3
ASUS B85M-E motherboard
Antec 500w PSU
Gtx 960 4gb SSC

Yeah i uninstalled the old drivers first then installed the newest driver for the new card.
It runs about 50c in game

It requires one 8 pin and included an adapter so you could use 2 6pin. i used 2 6pin

How did you uninstall it? DDU is the best way to clear everything out to avoid issues.

I'm not sure if you have ever solved the problem by now but this for anyone who still has issues and finds this forum.
Your stuttering is caused by the Cpu overheating. You can confirm this easily by buying artic silver 5 thermal paste (it's cheap) then take off the intels stock fan and heat sink wipe off the old thermal paste that's on your cpu and reapply new thermal paste in the x shape and refit the fan and heat sink on the Cpu. Now try your games again and you'll find that there's no more stuttering. I highly recommend changing that cpu cooler as well to some thing like this one here https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B005HIRDUA/ref=ox_sc_act_image_4?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER
