Hi Everyone on Tom's Hardware,

I have 3 questions:

1. Is there an all-in-one FREE (not trial etc) firewall for Vista with a 'free update' button included in
the program?;

if the answer is "no" then

2. What is the best FREE not all-in-one firewall that you can download for FREE for Vista?

3. Are there any FREE security programs that work together in harmony or with no conflictions?

The reason why I am asking is because am trying to find the best FREE security programs and, if it is ok with the Moderators to state, so far I have read 'bad' user reviews for some firewalls including Zone Alarm - have downloaded latest FREE version but have not installed it yet as there is a difference of opinion about that program.

Also, if it is ok with the Moderators, have downloaded the latest FREE version of Panda Cloud Antivirus & Firewall - but again have not installed it yet because I have not read any users reviews!

Have read a 'good' review for StopZilla AVM 2013 - but you can only obtain a 15 day trial at the moment.

Also, if it is ok with the Moderators, I have still to read users review for the following firewalls:
Online Armor Firewall, Private Firewall and R-Firewall.

So, 'you' can see, and hopefully understand, my dilemma.

Asking, kindly, anyone who replies to this thread please answer all my questions and provide any explanatory reply in plain English - if possible.

Thank you for your patience in this matter and I do look forward to receiving your reply soon.

Hi mouse24,

Thank you for your reply to my question and for mentioning Comodo firewall.

But, as far as I am aware, you can only download a free trial only version
of the Comodo Internet Security firewall

I know this because that is one of the firewalls that I downloaded and is
installed on our laptop - there is less than 20 days of the trail period left!

So, if you find any FREE firewalls that are all-in-one and have had 'good'
users reviews then please let me know by returned reply on this site in
the future.

Hi ddpruitt,

Thank you for your reply to my question and for mentioning MS
Security Essentials.

But, I have read a warning not to use that program on one site -
I cannot remember why, probably because of security issues,
but if I find the warning again I will post it on this website for you
to read.

Also, I rarely use Microsoft or Windows program, with the exception
of disk scan, and I prefer to use other programs.

So, if you find any FREE firewalls that are all-in-one and have had 'good'
users reviews then please let me know by returned reply on this site in
the future.

Thank you from

Mahjonng.
