Question all usb ports acting weird

Hello guys, i hope this is the correct area for my problem.
A week ago , my mouse and keyboard started randomly disconnecting from the computer(i actually dont have any other usb device connected). Both tried in another pc and work fine. I thought the ports were loose or gone bad, so i tried the other ports(4 in the back, 2 in the front) but the problem persists. The only system change was an overclock of intel hd 2500 through asus suite (from 1100 to 1250mhz) 2 weeks ago, after which the system was stable even after stress with no problems for one week , till the usb problem appeared.
I have uninstalled and installed the according drivers, i have updated them, i have disabled the option to turn off usb ports for saving power. I also unplugged the computer and tried to drain any remaining current from it by holding the power button for 10 seconds (maybe unrelated but pc tried to start for like a second {fans throttled}). I also tried to revert the overclock by unistalling the software(asus suite) and changing the bios accordingly but the igpu stays oveclocked, like this particular bios setting gets ignored (although it is saved). However since every hardware is stock, i think the psu wouldnt have problem for that extra power on the igpu under-currenting the usb ports.
Also i forgot to mention that i hear the disconnect sound, sometimes followed by reconnect one and one or rarely both usb devices go off for a second or 2 before getting reconnected. Sometimes a devices stops working with its lights on and when unplugging and plugging again, windows states that an unknown usb device didnt connect properly. After that either i try many times to get it working or i restart the computer.
Sorry for the long post, i tried to be as descriptive as possible.
I am on windows 7 home premium
cpu :intel i5-3470
gpu :intel hd 2500
ram:kingston ddr3 4gb
mobo: p8h61-m lx r2.0
psu:deer dr-8460btx 450W
Any idea appreciated

Replacing a component is my last resort, since this computer has been flawlessly working for almost 6 years... In the meantime I reinstalled the chipset USB controller but the problem remains..
Also when a device is disconnected and I try to use it, the disconnect-connect sounds are heard

For anyone that ever comes across this problem, i did the following and now the ports work as usual
I ran sfc (system file checker)
I ran chkdsk
I removed the cmos battery, held the power button for 10 sec and placed it back (after checking battery health with multimeter), so that bios was really reset and the overclock was eventually canceled.
(i dont really know which of the above repaired the problem but i bet on the last)
I guess the guy was correct about the quality of this psu since it probably couldnt handle such a light overclock
