Question Almost same specs, but less FPS

Hi everyone,

I would really appreciate some help here. Felt like I've gone and changed so many settings to try and optimize this game. I bought a pre-built HP Omen 45L, RTX 4090, i9-14900K and 64GB DDR-5200. (I have gone into BIOS and changed the setting to run XMP Profile 2). I play Throne and Liberty, and although it's great I'm getting 200fps standing still, on max Epic settings, the moment there's large events, my FPS plummets down to around 40-50fps.

There's someone that I play the game with that runs a 4090, 13900K @ 4K and he states he rarely dips below 120fps & on top of that, he is also screen recording the gameplay.

I've gone and tried to OC the GPU with MSI Afterburner (no clue what I'm doing aside from quick reads on Reddit and copying settings).

Need to keep an eye on cpu temps, maybe something wrong there with cooling.

Try balanced performance.

Typical HP bloatware tbh. If temps are fine maybe do complete Windows reinstall without all the HP crap.

You're just being gaslighted, does that guy record FPS and shows his actual settings?

Because I see benchmarks for that kind of thing and maxed out 4k nothing is nowhere near 120FPS when action gets going, let alone "rarely dipping" below it.

Have him share his actual settings and not these stories.
