[SOLVED] Alt key getting pressed automtically

The Alt key keeps getting pressed automatically, without the button being pressed physically.


Initially thinking it was a hardware issue, I changed keyboards & the problem persists.Even when there is no keyboard attached.
I've disabled sticky keys & uninstalled and re-installed keyboard drivers.

There may be other software (maybe a simulator of some kind) that causes this. Problem should be solved if reinstall windows.

is that the only way to fix it? Any ideas on what kind of simulator might cause this?

Try a Clean Boot. Be sure to check the checkbox to Hide all Microsoft Services. If there's no problem during the clean boot, then it was one of the programs you disabled that is causing the problem. Re-enable a few programs / services at a time until you find the culprit.
