Hello,

I've had an ongoing problem whereby the laptop screen goes blank every time the lid is moved., and will not recover will not recover until its forced powered down.

Loads of trial and error, Ive figured out that disabling the graphics driver and enabling the standard VGA apator resolves the problem.

Ive uninstalled and reinstalled the driver (Intel HD Graphics) ive tried different varaints of the driver from the oldest to the newest, but the issue is still present.

Ive done a fresh reinstall but still suffer the issue,

Is there a different driver I could try? perhaps a homebrew or some such? Im all out of ideas...

Thanks

This sounds more like a hardware problem than a software one. A loose or damaged cable will usually cause this. If you have the skills to do so, I would recommend you take it apart and unplug and firmly reinsert the video cable on both ends. If you lack the skills for such a task, find a friend that can do it or a local computer repair shop.
The reason it works with the basic VGA drivers is the signal that is sent is much more basic and likely doesn't use the wire that is shorting or not properly connected.
