Alternate way to connect tower speakers to PC?

Hey guys.
So, 5 years ago I bought a pair of JBL CST 55 and I am generally very happy with them.

My problem is, that my amplifier gives a low hum that I can't seem to get rid off. The amp is old, so it is probably a problem with the transistor. Now I need to either get a new amp or to somehow find another way to connect my speakers to my PC.

Have any of you guys heard of a way to connect the speakers to the PC without needing a new amplifier?

I am currently a student living in a dorm room. This means I am living on a budget, and a good amp is not cheap, and it's always nice to save some space.

What kind of connector do your speakers have?

I do not know much speakers, so I don't know the actual name of the connection type.

They have a left and right connection where I use a copper cable with exposed wires to connect them directly.
