Alternate ways to attach a microphone boom arm to a desk???

Hi! I have the classic Neewer Boom arm for my blue snowball, and the things works great...except that the mounting mechanism dosent really work in my case, the lip of the desk is a bit small and the whole arm falls off because there isn't enough grip on the table. (picture below) and I really don't want to have to buy a whole new desk. There has to be a solution to this somewhere.
If you have a solution or another microphone arm that I can use please let me know! (I want to save desk space, so I cant use a microphone that sits on the desk)

Why not use about a 4inch long 1x1 block of wood in the recess where the clamp mounts to the desk? Problem solved, yeah?

if the desk top is wood..drill a hole slightly larger then the pin of the sisor arm. tap in a metal open rod then tap in the arm so it tight and wont fall through.

those are pretty much your only options.

use a block of wood to shim out the front so it is flat or screw into the desk from above and the front as well.
