Hello there.

Got a current mini-ITX build with the following:

Case: Thermaltake Core v1
Mobo: Asus H81i-Plus
CPU: i3 4160 @ 3.6 GHz
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 103
GPU: Asus GX 760 DCII OC
HDD: WD Caviar Blue 3.5" 1TB
SSD: Kingston 120 GB 2.5"
PSU: Corsair HX 650W ATX

Now, I'm well aware that I'll have to swap the PSU and the CPU cooler out for what I am about to ask for, yet I'd rather keep the GPU and the HDD, if possible. Still, please give two separate recommendations with one keeping the HDD and the GPU in and the other not, if applicable.

I want a much more mobile rig whilst keeping as many of my current parts as I humanly possibly can. The key is the new case being smaller and/or more portable than my current Core v1. (260mm/10.24" Width, 276mm/10.87" Height, 316mm/12.44" Depth)

Something along the lines of Lian-Lu PC-TU100 would be great (http://www.lian-li.com/en/dt_portfolio/pc-tu100/) yet that one in particular would also constitute a GPU swap, alongside the mandatory PCU and CPU cooler changes. And without some modifications done, even a HDD downsize to 2.5" from my current trusty 3.5".

Which cases would you recommend that are either slightly smaller or much tinier than my current Core v1 without much compromise on the heat and noise fronts, preferably even an unlikely improvement there if possible?

Having a handle attached to it is a plus.

Thanks in advance!

The new CM HAF Stacker 915F would fit your components. ...including the relatively tall CPU cooler, GPU, and also an optical drive. Instead of a handle, go with straps. They can be removed if needed much easier than the handle.

Considering the depth, this one's even larger than my current Core v1. Though the stackability is an interesting concept nevertheless. Might give me an idea or two for another build.

True. Yet a lot higher and deeper 😛

I really need something substantially smaller at any given dimension whilst maintaining the rest or being smaller in other aspects as well, than my Core v1. Couldn't really find many, hence why I am asking here. Hopefully you or someone else will come by something that fits that description. We'll see ^^

Yea, that seems a tad smaller. Just not certain as to whether it is small enough to justify a migration from my current case though. Really wish there was a case the same size as Lian-Lu PC-TU100 boasting enough space for my GPU and 3.5" HDD, where I could compromise from the CPU cooler and PSU. Lian-Lu PC-TU200, as well, is larger than my current sadly :/

Mhm, that one's nice. Had a chance to look at it before. Yet I still have doubts pertaining to how portable that is. The main purpose a new case for me is going to be the ease of it being brought in as a carry-on when flying.

Yea those two seem to be very expensive. Besides, buying a barebone whilst already having all the components is a little waste there. Especially if it's going to be like that AsRock one where it takes in laptop RAM rather than standard and is twice larger in width and length although having almost a third of the height.

The In Win one also seems to be quite large, yes :/ You keep finding stuff yet I happen to be quite picky, sorry, haha.

That's okay buddy. I know how picky we can be when we want to get the most suitable part for our PC. Been there Done that.. Works out great.....:pt1cable:

Still larger than mine 😛

Hm. It seems there is no go on this one. Sorry about that buddy. I will keep on searching and let you know if I find any one smaller that yours. But don't expect any miracles. Every case I get to seems to be of almost the same dimension as the other one.
