It seems there is unanimous agreement that MSI's dragon center is not the best, so I was wondering if there are any other software I can install that do the same thing, or do I have to use the software of the motherboard. Also, I don't really understand what dragon center does, is it just controlling RGB or can it do more, such as overclocking?

Solution
I do not know are you running pc or laptop but it should not matter in case of rgb controls, app for that can be found here: https://www.microsoft.com/pl-pl/p/msi-center/9nvmnjcr03xv?rtc=1&activetab=pivot:overviewtab
In case of special keyboard keys you might be stucked with DC(thats is if you actually care about it) as it's common for a particular manufacturer to implement their own stufff.
When iit comes to overclocking as I mentioned ther is no "one-click" app that will give you stable, reliable results.
If you want that done well it can only be done by tinkering in BIOS, slightly increasinf frequences and voltages while monitoring temperatures and stability.. Again there are plenty of guides online.
DC does a variety of things, it lets you cutomize rgb lighting, switch power/battery profiles, controls special keyboard keys "Fn" function, does allow a very limited function of overclocking both cpu and vram and a bazillion of other thing any self respecting gamer does not care about. I would generally advise against using any "all-in-one"/"one-click-go" apps, they underperform and do more damage than good. As to ur question it depends on what do yuo actually want to do, for example you can manage ur battery/power profiles urself via windows control panel without having to run a unnecessary app in the background and you will end with much better results in overclocking following any on-line guide rather than this. As to rgp lighting you have to experiment, mystic light is a default msi app but I found that gigabyte rgb fushion does the same job perfectlyfine in my config. There is one thing probably no other app will do and that's the custom keyboard key function.

So to clarify I do not need to install the MSI provided software, and can install any company's software and other company softwares can just as easily control the RGB and overclocking? If possible could you give me some recommendations? ty
