Am I lacking enough ram? Get stuttering in DOTA.

My memory usage usually stops at 3.09GB according o task manager, having these specs
Total 4062
cached like 3gb
available 1gb
free 0~15 MB

For both games dota and battlefield 4 this is set like that. Like as if they require the same amount of ram?
Now, in dota I've been getting fps drops (to like 30~40) depends on the scene, and moderate stuttering depends if im multitasking on programs that feed off of ram (like skype, opening music in chrome). Also, I've tried putting my settings to the lowest, and the fps drops as stated above still occur.
Now when I play battlefield 4 I understand that game requires much more ram than I actually have, so I close every program that could potentially feed off of my ram, and the game runs accordingly with no stuttering (although this is a bold statement because that game does come with stuttering; especially if you have 4 gb ram like me)

So what does my ram reading mean? Does my dota stutter due to ram overload or just because Im stupid?

Specs are:
FX 6300
Sapphire OC edition r9 280
1TB WD
Seasonic m12ii 620W bronze
(I've built this PC about two months ago).

edit:
I just looked through my norton history of memory usage and BF4 and dota 2 required almost the same ram?
BF4= 1.4GB
Dota 2=1.2GB
do these two games really take up the same memory?

Im running everything on max settings. Except AA, I do realize its pointless to run AA on native resolution so I turn it off.
CPU usage usually ranges but the highest recorded was 100% as well as my video card.
CPU= 52c
GPU=59c
Right now I have a homosexual 1680 x 1050 resolution, however by the end of this week im getting a 21.5 inch 1080p HP monitor

So am I plateauing with the ram?

this is my answer. Get xtra 4gb more. 8gb is more than enough to run and multi task

but isn't a cpu at 100% load means that its working to its potential?

Ram isn't cheap man🙁 it's still an extra 34.99$ I would have to throw in

Ive been playing dota since 2005 and you can defintiely run warcraft frozen throne with only 4gb. try to adjust settings @ low. if stutter still exists, i suggest you clean up your computer or reformat

How does cleaning my PC would prevent stuttering? I know I know, the usual 'overheating' argument with dust and all, but my temps are fine.

you should by more ram 8gb is the standard for gaming and is perfect, its not too much and its not, not enough

it could also be a virus too i have experienced this too, do a full system scan with windows defender, ad aware and another anti virus program of your choice

A cpu at 100% means that the system is struggling to keep up with the game.
In other words 100% of your cpu isn't good enough.
Now it's possible the game is asking for the exact amount of cpu processing power that you have,
but that is highly unlikely.

I dont think its a cpu issue, he has more than enough power to run that game. I really suspect a virus going on or it could that driver's are messed up. Have you tried running other games? Did it also stutter? if so, you can try to reformat and see if there's any diffrence,

Ok guys, I ran a system scan and Norton found 22 infected cookies (i think its the name for it) 1 malware and 1 trojan.
Now, my CPU did not go above 64% and the game somehow looks cleaner now. I doubt it's the viruses on the first place, but still could be it. I forgot to mention to you guys that I am extremely paranoid and over think everything when it comes to my own PC.
Also I am currently running on windows 7 64bit. Ill update you guys on bf4 in a bit

edit:
was talking about dota

My suspicion was right. lol did you safe mode before you run malware and then killed those trojans?

No I did not.
Should I anyways right now, after I have removed them?
