But what i hated about the evil within 1 , in the last mission i guess , when u want to kill those 3 guys , a box head i think , the checkpoint on this mission was ended and i cant go back , my point is. ,I dont have any ammo , and i cant find any ammo there , thats actually ruined my game , i didnt finish it because of that...
That's because The Evil Within 1 is a true survival horror type horror game. Even though I'm pretty good at shooters and most games I play, that one I played my first run through on Casual, because I had heard feedback that it was a very challenging game.
As it turned out I was glad I did start on Casual. It was still challenging the first play through, but not so much so that I couldn't manage. Yeah, there are at least a few parts in the game where you have to decide whether you want to try to escape with more resources, or spend them and kill what's confronting you.
Either way it's a game that takes a while to master, and it also has great replay value. Just the fact that each higher difficulty level has not just tougher enemies, but also more enemies and traps, makes each play though feel different. I'm really upset they dumbed down the franchise so much, but it was no doubt because so many people claimed the first one was too hard.
The reality is, too many people don't have the patience to learn how to play the challenging games anymore. It takes a bit of trial and error and experimenting to find ways to deal with enemies effectively while managing your resources well. This is what I did my first couple play throughs. I would replay checkpoints until I found the best way to dispatch or escape with little use of resources.
Plus if you don't find all or at least most of the statues, and unlock the lockers at the hospital that have ammo, gel and health, you're setting yourself up for frustration. Truth be told, despite many claiming the stealth, especially later in the game, is broken, there are a lot of places throughout the game where you can use it effectively.
What I love about The Evil Within 1, is it not only has a true horror game feel, it makes you think a lot how to best play it. Games like that are rare these days. I played it several times through, and literally went from struggling a fair bit my first play through on Casual, to eventually beating it on Akumu and even on Nightmare with no upgrades in about 13 hours and 30 deaths, and at least a 3rd of those deaths were from failed trial and error experiments. After that I realized if you're about to be killed, you need to hit Esc and restart the checkpoint before the death actually happens. Point being, there's a LOT to learn about how to play the game well. I've seen vids of some beating it on Akumu with no upgrades, and it can be done pretty quickly if you know what you're doing.
