[SOLVED] AM2+ CPU compatibility with HP Pavilion

I found an old HP Pavilion on Craigslist, model a6614f, and I was considering purchasing and upgrading it. On HP's website, it says it can only go up to a Phenom 9600 CPU. Would this PC be compatible with other AM2+ CPUs that aren't listed, such as a Phenom II X4 965, for example?

No. If HP's web site does not list it, that means the processor is not supported. Aside from the CPU socket there are chipset and thermal designs to take into account.
