I was wondering how the AM2 X2ee over clocked and how well they did against a same priced C2D. Also I was wondering in any Hardware website has done any OCing with AM2 X2ee's at all?
Well now I am quite sad 🙁. Anyway I am looking for a great OCer for as little money as possible should I go for AMD or the C2D I am also looking for as much options for trying diffrent things with an OC. I am intrested in the Hypertransporting of the AMD X2s in that I don't quite understand how to really OC a X2? I have done alot of OCing with the XP's from AMD but haven't been able to get my hands on a newer Processor for some testing.
You want an Intel E6300. It's the least expensive (about $183 U.S at Newegg) of the new Intel chips but still a fabulous overclocker that will outpace just about any AMD processor when overclocked and paired with the right components.
There is good info available on it in the OC CPU forum. There's also a good guide on OCg the A64 if you're interested and would like to read up on it.
What C2D OC's the best for the amount of $ that I would spend on it. I'm looking to keep the PC under 1k and I need a full new box. What kinda motherboard should I get ( I know nothing about Intel I have never built one before and until the C2D came out I never thought of buying from Inthell before but I just cant pass up something that looks like it will out strip AMD for the next couple of years and this is something that saddens me greatly) Im looking at getting the 7900gt but I also want to OC the vidcard as well so that I can get the most bang for my buck so that I can keep this PC around for 3 to 4 years before I really need to upgrade (mean I don't mind playing at lower settings in games down the road as long as I can play them) Or should I just wait for DX10 to come out then and see what new products come out of both Intel or AMD? I just don't see AMD catching up any time soon.
OH yeah and I almost forgot should I get DDR2 800 or something less since right now I don't think I could even use the DDR3 800 to its fullest potential?
since right now I don't think I could even use the DDR3 800 to its fullest potental?
The E6300 and the E6400 are the best OC chips that you can get for your budget. I'd suggest most of the boards with the 965 chipset.
