I currently have an Asus ROG Strix B350-f mobo with a Ryzen 5 2600 and 16gb of ddr4 2400. I do light streaming and alot of gaming in FPS games mainly Battle Royals. I feel like an 8 core is the way to go and want 32 GB of ddr5. But with the high CAS latency of DDR5 I am kinda unsure if it's the way to go. I would like your opinion and also recommendations for a mobo/cpu/ram. It seems the Dominator Platinum may be the best for gaming, but again it's CAS is 40 so idk.

Hey there,

What res do you play at?

I'd be thinking a different route, if all you play is Battle Royals. Prob just go with a 5700x, and some faster ram.

What GPU do you run?

The B350 might not get you to 3600mhz CL14 ram. You could consider a cheap-ish B550, which would compliment 3600mhz ram, along with 5700x would be a big bump in performance.

What budget do you have, and where do you shop?

You've got a few options.

5600 with CL36 is pretty cheap about $160
5600 with CL30 is about $210, So is 6000 CL32

Ryzen 7 7700X and a B650E motherboard seem like a good deal, or the cheapest X670 board you can find. Only look at the X670E if you think you are going to use more than two or so expansion cards.

I do 1440 144 but would not mind going to 4k. I would want a new mobo with am5 not the current one. I have a 2080 Super.
