This is going to be used purely for music production, so I don't need a good graphics card at all. But due to the spec of the rest of the PC, I'm not sure if the GPU I'm getting will bottleneck everything else?

BUILD:

CPU: Intel Core i7-5820K 3.3GHz
CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15 82.5 CFM CPU Cooler
Motherboard: MSI X99A SLI PLUS ATX LGA2011-3
Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (4 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory
Storage: Crucial BX100 120GB 2.5" SSD
Storage: Samsung 850 Pro Series 512GB 2.5" SSD
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Video Card: XFX Radeon HD 5450 1GB Video Card
Case: Cooler Master Silencio 652S ATX Mid Tower Case
Power Supply: Corsair CX 750W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply
Optical Drive: Samsung SH-224DB/BEBE DVD/CD Writer
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 Home OEM (64-bit)

Any opinions on the entire build also welcome! This one needs to last me a while...

It won't limit your music production. It will handle whatever simple video you send it and will not slow down the rest of your computer.

You have a high-performance 'race-car' system with your heavy processor. You have a 'mini-van' PSU. I would want something a little more high-performance.

You do not need that many Watts. Is there some expansion plan?

The EVGA SuperNOVA GS 550W is Gold and fully modular, a lot better and the same price.
The EVGA B2 850 V1 850 Watt PSU is even more than you need, but the same price and better too.

@ak47jar3d

I already have a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 that I have using and assumed acted as a sound card?

@DonkeyOatie

I'll have a look at those. I have to admit I don't know much about PSUs, so I'm not sure what performance increases a better PSU would give?

As for the output of the PSU though, I just wanted to leave a bit of headroom just in case I wanted to get a much better graphics card down the line for real-time audio visual work and potentially composing for virtual reality (ie a gpu like the gtx 980 ti) with a higher power requirement. That's a while away though.

Yes. I assumed that you would be overclocking. That's why I suggested something better. The 850W EVGA B2 I suggested it significantly better than the Corsair you were looking at. It is not a performance issue exactly, more about giving your motherboard good smooth power. Here is our thinking on PSUs.

If you want to overclock, and use a GTX980, I would want at least 650W of PSU.

How mission critical is this system. You might want a Tier 1 PSU if it lays your golden eggs.

From a power supply standpoint, DonkeyOatie (guy, I love what you have done with that classical name) is correct and more so. The Corsair CX line is a Tier 4 product: might work fine for a year or two or maybe longer if you are really lucky, but the build quality isn't there: Just look at the warranty and check the review at HardOCP.com. The B2 EVGA is considerably better and the GS line is top-of-the-line Tier 1. The system you save by using a better power supply might be yours.

Can't buy through Newegg or in the U.S.: Use www.pcpartpicker.com to find something near you. Please do not skimp on the quality of your power supply, especially with the amount of money you are about to invest.

Last note: You may not need a great video card, but the 5450 is pretty low end. Might want to at least look at something in the AMD 6xxx or 7xxx series or the Nvidia 500 through 700 series.
