Amazon removes Dolby Vision and ATMOS for non-paid tier

Splendid
Title sums it up but you can Read more about it here.

What do you think about this crap? I think if they didn't p1ss away 750 Million on that abomination of a show LOTR we might not be here, at least not yet. Between the price hikes, ads and now removing features, Amazon has gone into Google mode. Stop being a company that's good for it's own sake and the consumer but focus on the shareholders first.

I actually find it somewhat humorous how up in arms people are getting over $3. Many folks have no issue going into Starbucks for a $8 coffee every day, but THAT $3 is going to break the bank on all of them?

When I watch Amazon through my HTPC I typically do so through the browser such as to avoid having another app (if there is one?) so I don't get surround features anyway. They do/did work via the Smart TV, but I rarely view that way because the wife likes to get up 50 times for any show we watch. Through the PC I can go goof off while she is up.

Another one of those it's only "xyz per month". It's the principle. Are you OK if EVERYONE "just starts adding $1 more per month"? What if your car you already bought suddenly requested $5 per month to use the speakers? What if you need to start tipping the cashier at the drover store? It's ONLLLLY $1.

Point is things add up. Prime is already expensive enough.

Dont be such an apologist, that sort of attitude is exactly why companies are penny pinching us to death in the first place.

Don't care. Best A/V is a 4k blu-ray optical disk. Yes, an old obsolete format.

Amazon is a luxury, not a need. Watching a few minutes of commercials, or hearing it in stereo isn't going to hurt you further, either. Imagine having a set that relied on antenna and location for crappy low resolution static noise on a very limited video entertainment network that went to sleep at night....If you don't want to subscribe to their service, you know where the door is.

You're right, I know where the door is, for a lost cause. You either don't care or don't get it. So I'll be ignoring your replies in this thread moving forward.
