Amazon sent me two "identical" ram modules with different widths

I ordered two modules of "Kingston Technology ValueRAM 8GB 1333MHz DDR3 Non-ECC CL9 DIMM Desktop Memory 8 (PC3 10600) KVR1333D3N9/8G" for my 64-bit Windows 7 desktop computer, and received them from different locations, with different widths. One is almost 1 & 1/4" wide, and the other one is just 3/4" wide, yet they have the same model number. One is made in Taiwan, and the bigger one is made in China, and there are different numbers at the bottom of the labels.

Is this normal for customers to receive "identical" ram modules that are different physical sizes? If so, what's the purpose of making them different widths like this?

Should I send one of them back? Or is it okay to mix them together, in that it won't make any difference at all?

Thanks in advance.

The difference is just the heatsink. The shorter one is considered "Low Profile" and is designed to fit under large aftermarket CPU coolers.

You should be OK to use them both, but you can always return one or both for a matching kit.
