Amd +3700 vs Amd X2 +3800

Hey guys I need 2 know which processor will perform well, I know that The x2 is a substantial chipfro multitasking but what about games? Maybe a +3700?
k8n neo4 PLatinum
1gb Ballistix pc 4000
Antec Neo He 550 Watt
X-fi Xtreme music
and a x1900 xtx

Will any of these processors create a bottleneck for my gpu?
Is there any performance difference between the +3700 and the X2 +3800, if its about the same then I will happily stick w/ the +3700, Im very tight on $$$, but if the x2 +3800 will outperform the +3700 by ALOT the the X2 it is. My rig is strickly goint 2 B 4 gaming only.

A few bucks more gets you a opteron 165 or even a 170 :lol:
Super stable and extremely overclockable.
An opty 165 at stock speeds scores higher in 3dmark05 than an X2 3800.

AMD Athlon 64 3700+
Frequency: 2,200 mhz
L2 Cache: 1 MB

AMD Athlon X2 3800+
Frequency: 2,000 mhz (but has two cores)
L2 Cache: 512 kb + 512 kb = 1MB



Which means right now you will see much better gaming performance from a 3700+ than a 200 mhz slower X2 3800+ that has half the cache for each core.

But. . .

If you are using a game that can take advantage of dual core the X2 3800+ would wipe the floor of the 3700+

Your better off going with the dual core now as, most application developers are gearing for dual core. Dual core is the way to go.
