Looking for a motherboard and chipset combination that fully utilizes the AMD 4000+ throughput of the fsb of 1mhz and bsb of 1mhz. There is dual channel memory available to do the job but I have not found a motherboard yet that will. Please advise.

I believe the "NForce4" chipset could do all that. Asus has A8N motherboard. You can check the other motherboard manufactures for the NF4 chipset and dual memory slots/controlers.
From what I have read, the 4000 is basicly a rebaged FX53 that can use non-buffered (EEC) memory.

Thank you for responding. I checked out the specs on the A8N motherboard with the NF4 chipset on the ASUS website. It shows that it will support the front side bus of 2000 and 1600 BUT it only supports max of dual channel memory of DDR400. I think in order to take full advantage of capable throughput you have to be able to use dual channel DDR500. Please correct me if I am wrong. Thanks, Bill

DDR-400 is the highest JDEC spec, there is none higer for DDR RAM

And the sign says "You got to have a membership card to get inside" Huh
So I got me a pen and paper And I made up my own little sign</pre><p></font color=red>

At this point the timing on the faster ddr 2 memory is so much higher, there is really no advantage-unless overclocking-which you did not mention.

just so you know, the a8n-SLI deluxe DOES support ddr500 dual channel, albiet not officially. it can be enabled in the bios as a preset memory speed. and if you bring your ht multiplier down to 4x, you will get the full 1000mhz ht bus.
however, for ddr500 and above, the a8n-sli is a Sh**ty overclocker. for the kind of memory bandwidth you're looking for, i would go with a DFI LanParty or MSI K8n Neo4 board. they will overclock more stable and give you higher speeds. also, ANY socket 939 board will give you all of the features you originally asked about. any board. got that? nforce 4 is just the best chipset out there right now.

"nd if you bring your ht multiplier down to 4x, you will get the full 1000mhz ht bus."

According to the benchmark done by www.neoseeker.com , theHT bus could be fast enough being at 400MHz only... go there and read the study of A64 overclocking.. you'll see.

So, that hype about hi HT speed and hi memory speed is completly waste of money for the A64. Better spent on a faster video card...

it doesnt matter tho because he's already bouth the proc and any motherboard that will fit it uses the 1000Mhz bus. it may not give much performnce, but there's no use bitching about it if it doesnt cost any more.

Wrong! The nforce4-4x support officially the FX cpu with the HT being at 800MHz. My k8nf-9 does use that chipset and it is rated at 4x HT. Not that it cannot run at 5x, but it is not certified by nvidia at this speed. The nforce4-ultra as SATA2, Active armor AND the 1000MHz certified chipset.

So, if I dont need SATA2 or active armor , and got a nforce4 ultra only for the 1000MHz HT, then I would have wasted money, usualy around 30$ more for the ULTRA. ok, it might have 8 SATA ports, but who really need 8 HDD..4 is enough for now, especially with the HDD getting bigger and bigger.

So, I dont bitch at it... I'm bitching at all that marketting trick that suck money from ignorant user.. I'm happy to be informed, saving where it worth it and spending where it really worth it.
