im trying to see what kind of fps i will get with my spec of my computer right now.
im going to buy the 7870

Windows 8 64-bit
AMD FX-4100
8.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 534MHz
ASRock 960GM-GS3 FX

what kind of fps will i get on bf3/bf4, farcry4 and modern games. i see people geting avg 50 fps on bf4 on ultra with an i5 so am i bottle necking

You can try overclocking. And you may be bottlenecking.

You arent bottlenecking, but your processor is weak. A better CPU would help in terms of FPS and upgrade paths, but the GPU will run fine with it.
I would overclock as much as you can.

I say ~30-40 on high BF3.

Youtube is not a benchmark site, almost all of those videos are wrong... not to mention that looks like 15FPS playback when sprinting.

The 7870 only pulls ~45FPS with 4xAA on BF3 @1080p let alone 1440p.

Never use Youtube as a reliable source of information.

Bottleneck -> Only occurs when your processor is at or close to 100% Load, otherwise what's bottlenecking? A bottleneck is caused by the tasks set not the difference of specification.
