Please help me with the choice between these two systems. The components are basically similar minus the mobo/cpu's. I don't care about the price difference, just more what I will be happier with. I am looking for the system to hold up for a few years, gaming settings will be high to ultra (if possible, but not required). I know I am better off with Intel for power consumption is much lower...but is there anything I am not seeing or missing? Also, I want optical audio on the board. I know sound cards make it better, but i' upgrade it later).

The i5 is better, no doubt about it. It has less cores but they are more powerful cores. And games only use a couple cores you need strong cores apposed to lots of them.
I agree the Intel build is better. The only thing I would change is the PSU. The motherboard is solid. No reason to change.

The Corsair CX series has a bad rep because of the cheap components used. If you stick with Corsair go with the TX, HX, or AX series. If you jump ship, Antec or XFX make solid PSUs.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I decided to go with the I5 4590k (now on sale) added an XFX XTR 80plus gold fully modular 650w psu, MSI R9 270x twin frozer 2gb and kept the Asus board (no optical audio on the gaming 5).
