You will be able to play colonial marines at lower resolutions on medium maybe a bit extra. As you move to 1050 and 1080 you going to suffer drop offs.

Faster RAM just aids the bandwidth, the difference between 1600 and 2133 in some games can be as high as 15-20FPS, others its more modest 5-10FPS.

The charts show and hd6670 ddr3, while there are a lot of hd 6670 gddr5. The hd 6670 gddr5 is significantly fatser than the geforce gt 630 ddr5 and is almost on par with the gt 640, so the hd 6670 gddr5 should get higher fps than the gt 630 ddr5.

You haven't proven anything...I gave a layman's terms explanation...

Yes, the 2 of you should be very happy together...since you both have that in common.

id say the A10 igpu is similar to a 1gb 9800gt, as i played bf3 on a 9800gt and a phenom x4 9650, so u get a newer gpu and cpu, and as i said before dont under estimate the performance of the a10 5800k and its igpu lol Many people dont recommend it because its very minimum gaming performance, but it still games fine, but for $140 for both a gpu and cpu u cant go wrong

Basically yes its about the same as the 8800GTX and the ran the GTX260 quite close. I know there has been a lot of fud about Haswell's HD4600 but in what we have seen on it, in a game like BF3 at 1268x768 low presets it is still a good 30% slower, in the iGPU performance Trinity was the head turner, things I am hearing about Kaveri and its integrated GDDR5 is basically HD7770+ performance on die.

Back to current Trinity, its iGPU can max out a lot of contemporary titles at 1080 so its far from a weak graphics solution, for a person on a $350 budget there is nothing that touches a APU.

I found my monitor better handles 1440x900 rather than 768, I was able to get medium textures, no AA and low AF, turned HBAO down to SSAO of off and I could get around 38FPS average, with DDR3 2133 and a overclocked core I can get that up to 45-47FPS. Dual Graphics with a DDR3 HD6670 can play the game on High textures, 2xMSAA and 2xAF, HBAO at 1680x1050 quite comfortably too. I paid $105 for the 5800K and $45 for the 6670. For $150 find me anything that can remotely compete with this part.

I just tried crysis 3 on the computer I helped my son build for minecraft. (5800k, 8GB 1600 ram)

Low settings and 1152X864 = smooth game play. (This is on a 22" monitor with 1050X1680 native resolution)

Not as pretty as 1920X1080, but not as bad as I expected.

Actually looks pretty good for "low" settings.

*Update*

Overclocked the iGPU, Ram and CPU.

Crysis 3 now plays nice and smooth at 1440 X 900 resolution, FXAA low motion blur, no lense flare, 16X AF, All else set to "low".

CPU = 4.1Ghz with turbo still in use at 4.2Ghz

iGPU = 980Mhz

RAM = 1866 w/ 9-11-9 27 timing. The game plays fine with 9-10-9 timing but the CPU kept dropping a core in P95 stress testing with the RAM that tight. 9-11-9 passes.

RAM made the biggest improvement in game play.

The game actually looks and plays pretty nice now. I'm very happy with this little APU's performance. It's no "gaming rig", but it's strong enough to allow for enjoyable game play with one of the toughest games on the market.
