the a10 its just an athlon CPU...if you already have it, you could see a lot og agresive changes in FPS, and that kind of stuff. its not a bad CPU its just it has the same architecture as the AM2+ cpus... very old, no L3 cache...

by the other hand, if you can choose, and you are on budget, well the pentium 3258 seems to be the best option right now...

Davy had his information wrong. The CPU in the 6800k is not based on the Athlon of AM2/3+. The 6800K is based on Richland/Trinity and the CPU portion is based on Piledriver Cores that is used by the FX 4/6/83XX series. The new Athlon CPUs are based on the APU equivalents, and only named Athlon to show that it has no IGP.

It is true that thr G3258 is probably the best intro gaming CPU

Your APU shouldn't bottleneck your 760 too much. If you have a good powrr supply, motherboard, and cooler I would OC the APU a bit. I don't own a 760 so I don't know what kond of FPS you would get.

yeah... i know... but they lacks in L3 cache so they are not far away in performance clock by clock... the 32nm litography may able to let them run preaty fast... but even a phenom II should be a better option for performance tasks... as CPU of course. but as an APU i think its the best price performance right now

I know what you meant. The lack of L3 cache and the fact the CPU portion is small means the 6800K is weaker than their FX equivalent and weaker than the Phenom IIs also. I only called you out on where you said it was the same architecture as AM2+
