Hello guys, I am intrested in buying the AMD A10 7700K I alread have a dual channel (2x4gb) that runs at 1600 mhz. I was informed that I need Ram that is at least 2133 mhz to run games smoother is it true? Can i speed up the Ram frequency in BIOS? Would it be better for me to just dump my Ram and buy 2 new 2133 mhz sticks?

My MOBA is the ASROCK FM2A68M-HD

Thank you in advance

AMD's CPUs don't make much sense right now for much of anything, except for some very niche circumstances. The integrated graphics in an i3 6100 is close to as fast as AMD's best iGPU (512 shaders), and better than most of the lower models (256 and 384 shaders). The CPU portion of the i3 6100 is significantly faster than any AMD CPU on the market. The i3 draws half the power, and has some excellent drop-in upgrades in the form of i5's and i7's, whereas there is really no upgrade if you buy socket AM3+ or FM2+.

The only downside to the i3 is that it uses the newer DDR4, so you couldn't reuse your RAM. However, DDR3 production is dropping and it's probably not a great idea to invest in a platform that uses it anyway.
If you don't already have the cpu, I'd recommend going with an intel i3-i5 if you can afford one. As to the ram, you don't NEED faster ram, but it would increase your fps a bit IF you run on the integrated graphics in your a10. If you have a dedicated card the ram speed will make little difference.

Well, you should get playable frame rates on a lot of games, probably ~medium settings ~30-45fps. Maybe better if its an older game. You won't be able to play anything demanding though on integrated graphics. Before buying faster ram, check and see what your motherboard supports. I believe the 7700k officially supports up to 1866mhz ram, but often works with 2133 or sometimes higher.

If you don't want to go with intel, I'd say just get the apu, and try some games with your current ram, if your fps is too low, you can try getting faster ram for an improvement. I'd aim for ram rated for 2133mhz. If your system won't run stable at 2133, try 1866. 2133 speed ram costs pretty much the same as slower ram.

^ Exactly why I recommended an i3-i5. However, just getting the apu would be cheaper.

To be fair though, the a10 series cpu power isn't that bad. I have the 5800k and can play games like skyrim on high with 70+ fps and Arma 3 on medium with 30+ fps. I do have dedicated graphics though.
