just a quick reminder that the person who started the thread (Vicky Hurren) is mostly wanting to play SKYRIM so all these battlefield 4 benchmarks, while proving a side point, are not the main subject. The main subject is: will i5 4430 or a competing AMD CPU run Skyrim better. Just noticed this but it is a choice between 6300 and 280x or i5 and 270x. I didn't see the different GPU earlier...
@aakarhsan thats because an FX 8350 is better than an I5 4440 but slightly worse than a I5 4670K.
@thdarkshadow , Any CPU really will run Skyrim easily aslong as oyu have a good GPU.. @VickyHurren can either get a slightly worse CPU (AMD FX 6300) and a better GPU (R9 280X) or a better CPU (I5 4440) with a worse GPU (R9 270X). It really comes down to how what resolution he wants to play Skyrim and with or without mods because either GPU will run it on ultra 1920x1080
Getting a stronger cpu is always recommended. He can later upgrade his gpu.But for now any gpu will handle Skyrim easily.Getting a weaker cpu '6300' is not recommended.
But then again if he wants to upgrade the I5 4440 , he would need a new motherboard aswell whereas if he gets the FX 6300 , he can upgrade to an FX 8350 or the upcoming steamroller CPU's which will also use the am3+ socket.Although saying that the I5 4670K and I7 4770K use socket 1150 so he could just upgrade to I7 if he ever needs to upgrade
Sorry I should have said the steamrollers will likely use AM3+ sockets as AMD tend to contiune using a socket but no it's not official.. It's up to @VickyHurren to choose what he wants to do. But if he was going to upgrade the CPU of either brand, I'd recommend just saving a little more and get the I5 4670K or FX 8350 or even the I7 4770K right of the bat along with the best GPU he can afford.
Then why does BF4 perform much better on AMD than Intel?
Who say BF4 performs better in AMD than Intel.I m using Intel Core i5 4440 with R7 265 2GB DDR5 and i m playing with ultra high settings and it is running so smoothly and i didnt had that smooth in fx 6300.so i feel intel core i5 is way better
