AMD A6 and AMD A10 Godavari

So I'm thinking of upgrading my old cpu which is an A6 to an A10 but after some research people are saying that even though I have a motherboard that has a Fm2+ socket I might have to get the newer motherboards so I am confused on if the A10 Godavari would fit in the socket or not. I have a ECS Motherboard I don't know which one but I have upgraded my PC to Windows 10 when it was originally Windows 7.

As long as your mobo is FM2+ it should support it. But if you need to be absolutely sure - every single motherboard manufacturer's website lists EVERY SINGLE CPU that it supports in a chart on the model page.

Are you using a discrete GPU with your APU? If you are there are better options. If not, I'd consider changing to a CPU + GPU combination for a bit more money and quite a bit more performance.

Exactly which motherboard do you have?
