Laptop: Lenovo 320-17ABR
It suddenly crashed and no longer starts up. Before that, no problems were noticed. At the moment of the crash, it was not connected to the internet or the power outlet, and the only program running was a media file in VLC. A window popped up in the middle of the screen, and the laptop immediately turned off (it’s unlikely this was a low battery warning, as I first thought, since the background didn’t seem to be blue).
On subsequent startups, it shows the error 0xc00000e9 from the first photo ⬇️. The keyboard and indicator lights work normally. Enter, F1, and F8 all lead back to the same screen. I can enter UEFI.
I immediately reset the settings to default there, then tried disabling dual graphics, removing one RAM stick (the other one is soldered in), enabling Legacy mode, disabling Secure Boot and Fast Boot, removing the optical drive, and of course disconnecting the mouse — same result.
I connected the SSD to another PC — it works, and Windows’ standard tools didn’t show any errors. In the System.evtx log, no suspicious events were saved (I can attach what’s needed, I’m not very experienced with this).
I tried booting the Windows 10 installer from a USB pen drive created via the Media Creation Tool — it shows a blank blue screen. It still reacts to the same keys as on the error screen: screen flickers with Enter and F8; reboots with F1; opens UEFI with Escape. I also tried this with the SSD removed. I tried another installation USB with an older Windows 10 version created on another PC a few years ago — same result.
Over the past week, the power flickered a few times, maybe that also affected it — but some time has passed since then. Maybe a ribbon cable got damaged, but then why the same problem with the USB stick? What could be the issue? Where should I look next, or what should I check specifically? Maybe I can do something with the SSD from another PC?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!
