Question Sound issues

I decided that I needed to improve my sound coming out of my pc. I was listening to my non-paid version of Spotify, some classical music, and decided that the individual instruments just were not clear enough. One of the resources I viewed on how to improve told me to adjust my sound card sampling rate to 44.1 kHz. Previous to that, I had been running some cables out of my sound card (Focusrite Scarlett II) and into my Onkyo receiver. This did nicely for both speakers and headphones, but again, when listening to classical, it wasn't as defined as I would like. I checked the settings of the card and changed them to 44.1. It stopped flowing through my receiver at that point and began coming out of the tinny sounding speakers included with my new ViewSonic monitor. I went into the soundcard settings and changed it back to what it had been originally (48 kHz) but then I got no sound at all. I finally went into the sound settings and chose a different set of speakers (specifically FX Sound Speakers - FX Audio Enhancer, which is an app I have) and the sound came back on. However, now I have to do that every time I turn the computer on after having been turned off. Every time I start it back up, there is no sound and the selected device changes. So, any thoughts on how to solve this issue?

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

You've posted this thread in the Windows 10 section. If that wasn't in err and you're indeed on Windows 10, can you pass on a what you see listed as your Audio outputs and Devices for audio? Do so both from Device Manager and Sound Manager.

What version(not edition) of Windows 10 are you working with?
