This laptop is an Acer Aspire 5560, I have had it for 3 years now, and it usually runs with no problems.
However, lately I notice that under the laptop has been getting warmer than expected. (I only browse, skype and play light games such as Stepmania)

So i checked it using Piriform Speccy and I am surprised by the result. (Specs are Included)

So far it idles at around 55-60c and load temps are upwards to 85c.. It never shut off or anything.
I dont see any visible dust collection on the vent on the left side of the laptop. I also always use my laptop on a flat surface like a desk (since sometimes its too warm for me to put on my lap)

Are these temps normal? How can I make it lower without dismantling the laptop. I also NEVER OC this laptop..

Hello iComfy

Assuming that you have already scanned your PC with an efficient anti-virus program (if not, make sure you do so because many times viruses generate false threads and make the processor work unnecessarily), you should try using any of the following Windows tuneup utilities.

* Cleaning orphan registry entries.

* Cleaning cookies.

* Removing unwanted/unused files from your hard drive.

* Defragmenting the hard drive partitions.
..and much more.

A few efficient and free optimizers are listed below:

> CCleaner

> Rizone's Power Tools

> TweakNow PowerPack

> RegSeeker

Some paid optimizers are:

> Tuneup Utilities

> Ashampoo WinOptimizer

If the heat problem still persists, you may need to apply new thermal compound. You...

If the heat problem still persists, you may need to apply new thermal compound. You can see how to do this on this link.

Further information to resolve the issue can be found here.

Let me know if this helps. Good Luck!! :)
