Hey people,

Just a simple question for you guys, because I've been googling and havn't found any answers to my question!

Will an AMD A8-7600 processor (4 core, 3.1Ghz - 3.8Ghz turbo) bottleneck a Nvidea GTX 960 when it comes to running the latest games? And if it does, how drastic will the bottleneck be? I mean is it completely out of the question to even consider putting a GTX 960 with a 7600?

Thanks for any answers I get! :)

Solution
One can consider anything.

You buy an APU because of the excellent integrated graphics.
Once you add a discrete graphics card you will have negated that particular benefit and will be left with a relatively weak cpu that has no real upgrade path. Few games can use more than 2-3 cores. A upgrade to a 6 or 8 core cpu buys you little.
In essence, when you buy a apu, plan on living with it forever.

My suggestion is to start with a lga1150 motherboard and a stronger Intel I3 like the I3-4170.
Then, you have a cpu upgrade path to i5 or i7.

Solution
It seems by your first post that you already have that CPU, am I right? If yes, you can go with the GTX 960, in more cpu intensive games it will bottleneck this GPU, but it will be a good match in most games.

If you dont have the CPU yet, follow the advice of geofelt

Yeah I do already have that CPU in my system! And I don't really want to upgrade, thaks for the andvice, I appreciate it :)

I misunderstood your situation.
Yes, a GTX960 will be an upgrade.
Some games may be impacted by cpu, but there is always a limiting component.
Upgrading graphics probably shifts that limitation from graphics to cpu, but you will still be doing better.

you're welcomed, gl with your new GPU :)
