I built a new computer about a week ago. I noticed when I tried to run Minesweeper it said software rendering mode was on. I downloaded graphics drivers and it blue screened. 1 System Restore later I looked in Device Manager and noticed it wasn't showing there! I went into the BIOS and switched the graphics to onboard instead of PCI-E, and it didn't work. I will try double checking and switching it again, but it didn't work.
PS : The APU has been overclocked from 3.3 to 3.8 Ghz.
Specs :
Asrock FM2a68m-dg3+ Mo-bo
4gb DDR3 1600 RAM (Temporary)
EVGA 500b PSU
Wi-Fi card
Optical Drive
AMD A8 7650k

you list specs without GPU... so I am confused. Do you have a GPU or are you using onboard GFX? Most of the time you can not use both. Usually (but not always) the mobo will detect PCI EX card and disable the onboard. This is what I would do: If you have a PCI GPU card - remove it. Enable onboard GFX, Start in SAFE MODE. Using disk that came with mobo: re-install board drivers from the disk. Update the board drivers. Once you have determined the onboard GFX are working, download the drivers for your PCI EX GPU- shutdown. Install PCI X GPU, Start computer, BIOS, Disable onboard GFX (if necessary) . Enable PCI X GPU and select it as primary display (if necessary) . Re-install PCI EX GPU drivers that you just downloaded. If your computer has no display while using ONLY the onboard GFX - re-install the PCI EX card (GPU)

Oh, I forgot to mention that, sorry. I am using the APU built in graphics. I will try that idea.
