I'm using an AMD A10-Series APU-7850K with an AMD A78 chipset. The A88X chipset is recommended to use with the A10, so will there be any performance loss?

Hmm interesting on GamersNexsus it says A78 supports PCI-E 2.0 but on gigabyte's website they say "To support PCI Express 3.0, you must install an FM2+ APU." So I guess the A78 can support PCI-E 3.0? (http://www.gigabyte.us/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4875#sp)
Anyway thanks for the help!

Yes, because (like the Intel chips) the PCIe is controlled by the processor. I'm only interpreting like you are, because I never used a 3.0 card with an FM2+ APU yet. But in the long run, it matters little, since no card I know of can saturate the bandwidth of even 2.0 yet at 16 lanes.
