Hi,
anyone know what's the prob?
i have already clean the heatsink n fan.
i am using arctic cooler fan.
I have just recently applied tuniq tx-2 after cleaning but the result is the same.
pls help
the weird thing is, core 1 is about 50 degree but core 2 is about 60 degree.

i am using arctic freezer

Well it shows core 1 under more load. Thus its logically correct that it should be at a higher temp. However, 60C temp at 8% load is just not right. Please give us your complete system specs. Also try using other temperature monitoring softwares such as HWMonitor and AMD overdrive. If you motherboard features cool n quiet then enable it (in case disabled) and check again.

The above temps look pretty consistent. I guess you have the stock cooler installed on the processor. Changing to an aftermarket cooler will surely improve temperatures. Which case do you have? Does it has adequate airflow? What are your room temperatures?

I'm almost positive it's your thermal paste. I noticed that if i use less, i get better temperatures. Back when I i used to cover the cpu with a good amount of paste, i noticed that my temps were abnormally high. Then I got onto a forum and the guy said "less is more", ever since then I haven't had an overheating problem. Just apply the paste once and I dust out my system with a vacuum (carefully of course) once a year and I have not had a single problem with heat EVER.

I could only assume that the more paste you use, the less contact your heatsink has with the cpu which makes the heatsink almost useless. try that and let me know how it works out for you. My niece uses the 4200+ overclocked very midly to close to 2.4Ghz and under room temp(70 degrees), she hovers around 40C on regular usage (internet, movies, etc.) on stock heatsink and fan. I used Arctic silver 5 if you're curious.

as stated earlier, i used arctic freezer cooler :)
i will try reapplying the thermal paste and let you know

I am using arctic freezer :).
My case is armor junior but i open the side panel all the time so the ventilation might not be the problem right?
my room temp is around 27C

Check out the above article. It looks like hitting 60+ is a norm for that processor. I do agree that for your room temp the core temperatures are pretty high. But then again, this is an old design. Try cleaning off the thermal paste and applying again.

I used to own a 4000+ and i can tell you that 60C at 8% load is above normal.
Also i used that same cooler and under full load it never topped 64C and under normal operation around 40C.
So like stated before i would recheck your cooler and apply new thermal paste.

I do not believe he needs a 3rd party cooler. pretty useless if he isn't oc'ing. i do admit his room temp is higher than normal but at least it's only 27C which is roughly 80F so it should well be in normal operating temperature. If somehow your temps are not going down it must be airflow in your case. If you do decide to go with a 3rd party cooler i'd recommend the hyper 212+ http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002G1YPH0/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER. it's gotten excellent reviews everywhere i've looked. they say for that price it can't be beat. look up youtube videos if you're having trouble installing it.
