I want to buy Gigabyte B550M-S2H
It's the cheapest motherboard with B550 chipset
I was wondering. Will it be any change in performance between this motherboard and the most expensive B550's motherboard?
I using only one GPU (PCI-E 3.0), so I dont need more than one PCI-E connector

Performance wise no, it would be fine, most differences are in equipment. Which CPU ?

It doesnt matter for this question, but is always nice to know :)
Processor: Ryzen 5 1600
GPU: Radeon RX 460 Nitro (PCI-E 3.0)
Memory: 2 sticks of G.Skill 4GB 2400MHZ CL15 (Will be apgraded for 2 sticks of 8GB each)
2 SSD

1600 processors aren't supported on B550 motherboards; neither are 2000 series processors.

If you really want to get a B550 board (for future proofing perhaps?) you need to get a 3000 series. Another way to future proof on the cheap is get a B450 board. In particular, MSI's MAX B450 boards are almost certain to get BIOS's for Zen3 although most others probably will too.

OMG can't believe I missed it
Thanks guys
I heard that B550 will support 4th gen. Is it officially confirmed? Or just a rummor?
OK...it's confusing...

Boy is this bad.

1st gen = Zen 1 = 1000 series
2nd gen = Zen 1.5 = 2000 series
3rd gen = Zen 2 = 3000 series
4rth gen = Zen 3 = 5000 series

can it get worse? don't confuse your gen's and Zen's.

So Lisa Su just told us about 4rth gen...on B550/X570 boards.

I understand. Thanks for the information
My friend bought Ryzen 5 3600 X (processor only)
He has GTX 1060 6GB which he don't want to replace, 1 stick of 16GB DDR4 3200MHZ, and 2 SSD connected via sata cable.
He wanted to buy Gigabyte B550M Auros pro
But then he saw the Gigabyte B550M-S2H which is almost 60$ less
I told him that he can buy the cheaper one (s2h) because he doesn't need all the extra features in the auros pro- like 4 sticks of ddr4, extra slot for pci-e or usb type-c and more...
What you guys think? I think that he will gain the same performance from both motherboards.. They are both B550 chipset..

Performance is unlikely to be affected.

In addition to features you mention a major difference is the Auros Pro's very capable VRM. For a 3600 the S2H should perform just as well, but the Auros Pro would be a good choice if your plans include upgrading to a high core count processor (3900 or 3950).

It might also prove an advantage for Zen 3 but we'll have to see just what their power draw is when reviews come out.
